Keith Schaefer (20 December 1928 - 1976) was an Australian rules footballer who played with South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL).

Schaefer, who played as a centreman, won South Melbourne's best and fairest in 1952. In 1948 he represented Victoria in interstate football and retired at the age of just twenty four.

He died in 1976 after losing his battle with bowel cancer.
